Food Review - Beer Mac and Cheese

Food Review - Beer Mac and Cheese

This was a recipe I found in one of my moms cooking recipes. It turned out very well.

The first thing you do is start the noodles, about 2 cups, and cook them like normal.  While those cook in a separate pot you cook two cloves of crushed garlic and 1/4 cup butter.  Once melted you add 1/4 cup flour, l tablespoon of grounded mustard, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix till smooth blend in 2 1/2 cups milk, 3/4 cup beer, and 1/4 cup half and half.  cook till boiling and thick.  Once thick add 2 cups cheddar and 2 cups mozzarella. once cheese has melted add cooked noodles(make sure to drain water) put in greased casserole pan. Sprinkle 1 cup cheddar cheese and 3 table spoon Parmesan on top. Place in oven at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. and done.

(forgot to take pic before dishing out)

Now that's how I made it the original want bacon on top, some fontina cheese, and Heavy whipping cream, but I had to improvise. I have to say both me and my mother enjoyed the recipe. I'd only recommend this though if you like beer. My mom said all she could taste was the garlic, while all I could taste was the beer. It was delicious though and I'd have to rate this a 6 out of 10. The only reason I rate it low, is because I probably won't make this again.

Hope you enjoyed it!!

Movie Review - Live Free Die Hard

Movie Review - Live Free or Die Hard

This is an old movie having been released in 2007. It stars Bruce Willis in the fourth epic movie of the Die Hard Series. Now their are probably few out there that haven't seen this movie, if you haven't rent it, download it, or watch it, because out of the 4 movies this one is my favorite. I own this on Blu Ray and would recommend this to anyone, because it is just great. Enough of me rambling.

The basic plot is John McClane an NYPD detective is called into escort a known hacker to DC. When he gets to the hackers house they are attacked by assassins to kill Matt Ferral (Hacker). Able to get DC in time to realize their is a Fire Sale or Internet Terrorism taking hold of DC. McClane must get to the bottom of the attacks and figure out how Matt is involved with this.

I don't know if I've stressed this enough how much I enjoyed this movie. From the short comedic quips, to the outlandish actions scenes. You forget your watching a movie and get sucked in to the live of John McClane. I'd give this a 10 out of 10, only cause I haven't met someone who didn't enjoy it. Yippee Kye Aye Mother F***er!!!

So you going to see the 5th one this Weekend??

Movie Review - Larry Crowne

Movie Review - Larry Crowne

I watched this movie last night, and enjoyed it lots.

This movie came out in 2011 and is a romantic comedy staring Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks. It took me awhile to get into the story, but once I fell into it I enjoyed the plot and characters instantly. I think what drawed me most to this movie was the trailer and the all star line up.  I mean I grow up with a love for Tom Hanks and Julia Robert, there was no doubt in my mind that it would be good.

The basic plot follows Larry who just got fired and decides to go back to school to increase his ability to hold a job.  He meets a teacher who has lost her passion for teaching and together they try to work out a better life for themselves.

The humor was there at points, but its the story line between the two that drives this story. If your looking for a classic romance comedy this would be it. I'd rate this 7 out of 10. Due to this being for an older audience it's hard to relate with any of the characters.

What is you Favorite Romantic comedy?

Food Review - Apple Braid

Food Review - Apple Braid

I did this Recipe for Thanksgiving, replacing the normal Apple Pie. It went over very well, most of the family wanted the recipe for it.

So I took more liberty with this recipe than I normally take. Instead of making the bread I used Pillsbury crescent rolls. I rolled it up than flattened it out. Than I added the apple mixture.

The Apple mixture consisted of 5 apples (2 Granny's, and 3 Fuji's). Than once peeled cores and cut into slices put in a bowl. I added 3 tablespoons sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon (was a little off love cinnamon), 2 teaspoon lemon juice (I used lime due to didn't realize didn't have any). Mix well than place on pastry.

Than do as you see in picture above and make slices and braid over top of fruit. I recommend putting this on baking parchment paper on a cookie sheet, cause it will leak and stick to pan no matter if its greased or not. I put egg whites on top of crescent rolls before putting in the oven to brown it. Place in oven at 350 degrees for roughly 25 minutes.

Once done add glaze which consist of 1/3 cup powdered sugar, 5 teaspoon whipping cream, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla  and a pinch of salt, and nutmeg. I ended up doing a double of the glaze cause I like glaze.

It looked like this!!

I would highly recommend this. It was easy tasted delicious, and I know cause this was the only thing that didn't have leftovers. Rated 8 out of 10, can't give it a ten because I took liberty's.
