I'm tired of movie reviews, and i didn't cook any recipes recently, so I'm lost for what to do. I ask my Mom and she says you should write something. I honestly don't like writing ideas in my head down. I normally torture My sister Mcgee with them. With nothing else to do though I decided I'd try and see what happens.
I can't come up with something on my own it's sad fact. Most my stories are expansions of something else I've read, so for this one I took three pins from Pinterest and used them for inspiration.
The Waiting Lady
Once in a great while people travel deep into the woods. They hear things in the forest that can't be explained. A twig breaking when nothing is around, A rustle of a bush when there is no wind or animal, and a sound of a footstep when you are all alone. People will turn their heads to the sound and try to figure out what caused it, rationalizing that it is nothing. For if you can't see it there is nothing really there. That is far from the truth though. What you hear when alone in the forest, is actually a forgotten person in waiting for the person who can see.
Once a long time ago lived a great race of forest dwellers, called The Holt. This race would care and protect the forest where they lived. They did not travel beyond the forest, for they would be killed by the creatures outside. The Holt were ruled by a great King and Queen, who would treasure the citizens of the forest above all else, and strived each day to keep them save from the creatures outside the forest.
One day the King and Queen were blessed with a daughter named Calli. Calli had hair as dark moist Earth after a hard rain, and eyes the color of caramelized sap from a mighty oak tree. Calli grew to love the forest just as much as her parents. She strove each day to learn the secrets of the forest, and to remain shielded from the creatures that would harm the forest. She took care in her studies to make sure she was prepared, but as she studied and learned she grew anxious and curious about the creatures outside the forest.
Determined to find out about these creatures she had studied. Calli went to the edge of the forest. She watched the creatures outside the forest. How they played and worked, much like The Holt. Though there skin was not like hers. Where hers was the color of leaves, These creatures had skin the color of a baby deer. She soon found herself coming to the edge to watch the creatures daily. She enjoyed watching them gather food, and play with toys made from fallen twigs and leaves. She started watching a particular one in the group. His hair was as dark as the nights sky, and eyes as blue as day sky. She watched him play with other males, and helped the elders when told.
Calli could see the creatures causing no harm to the forest, and no intent to harm The Holt. Even so, Calli obeyed her parents when it came to stricter border patrols and protection of the forest. As long as she could watch the creatures, especially at night, when they would join around the fire and sing a harmonious tune. One day though while on a border patrol, a group of the creatures had gone past the borders, Calli watched helplessly as The Holt troops went after the creatures. Calli spotted the creature with the blue eyes, and disabled her shield. Grabbing the creatures had she fled with the creature back beyond the borders. When Calli came to a stop she turned to the creature, and said, "Leave this forest now, It is not safe. Your friends will return once the borders are safe." She pushed him toward the village, but the creature refused to move.
"I've seen you before, in the trees, watching us," The Creature replied. Calli froze not knowing what to do. She was sure each time she had went past the border she had been shielded. How could he have seen her. The Creature continued, "We came looking for you. I wanted to meet the beauty from the trees." Calli could hear the rest of the patrol coming, and with a shove said, "You must go. They will kill you if they think I've been seen." The Creature replied, "Not without your name first." "It's Calli," she said with another shove. "Calli, My name is Rasil. Will I see you again?" He said stumbling toward the village. Calli looked at him, "I hope so." Rasil smiled and went to the village.
Calli was able to get her shield back up as the patrol descended on her. "Princess Calli, What were you thinking? You could have endangered the entire Kingdom!" said the lead Patroller, "Not only that but you assisted a creature. I will have to tell your father. Were you seen?" "I wasn't seen," she replied and the patrol escorted her back to the castle. She listened as her mother and father were told what happened on the patrol. She waited for her punishment. When the Lead Patroller was done the king stood and dismissed the court. Calli waited for her parents to say anything.
Finally her mother asked, "Calli, What were you doing helping a creature? You now the rules better than anyone. Why disobey an order?" Calli sighed and said, "You wouldn't understand." "Than make us," said her father in a stern voice "They weren't hurting anything, we attacked them first. I just ... It just seemed wrong." "Calli toughs patrols are there to protect this Kingdom and the forest," Her mother replied. Her father answered, "You weren't there thousands of years ago when the creatures first arrived. The Forest never ended, and our kingdom was vaster than any lake know to us. They destroyed so much of our livelihood, with no concern for the forest or it's inhabitants." "Well maybe they have changed since then," Calli defended. "Creatures like these never change," claimed her father. "Calli go to your chambers and remain there, till a suitable punishment can be decided." said her mother closing the argument.
Calli turned and left court room to her bedroom she flung herself on the bed of moss. She sighed and thought about the day. A smile came to her face as she thought of the creature Rasil. She rolled over and went to her closet she found the gown she wore for her last court party. Bright moss green that stood out against her evergreen skin. She changed and placed on an amber necklace, and snuck out her bedroom window. She snuck past the border and made it back to the edge of the forest.
That's it for the night I'm tired. Comment if you want to know what happens next.
