Saturday Randomness 2/2

Saturday Randomness

I had a good trip. Hope everyone had a good Friday. Let's begin Saturday Randomness!!!

First I'd like to share this Disney short that I found on YouTube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=aTLySbGoMX0

For some reason it won't go directly to the Video, but here is a link. The Video is called Paperman. It is a cute Disney short from Wreck It Ralph.  I had not seen the movie so the short caught me off guard when I saw it!! Sweet, Lovey Dovey scene, where boy sees girl and try's to use paper airplanes to get her attention. Watch it it makes sense, and I'm sure you'll all enjoy it.

Second I found this on Pinterest.

I couldn't find the artist of this cute little picture. Its cute and made me laugh which makes it a good pic worth sharing. It's Spider man singing his own theme song. I love it!!!

This last one I found on Tumblr.

When asked what his favorite professional life achievement was, Dick Van Dyke responded: “That I made ‘em smile. And I think that’s asking enough.”

The thing I like most about this, is no matter what he just wanted to make people happy. Dick Van Dyke was an amazing actor I loved watching him in films as a kid. No matter what I'd always be laughing. The fact that it looks like he's tipping his hat to his younger self, makes me think he knows he did great things and worked his hardest to make something worth while. You go mister Van Dyke!!!

Who was your favorite actor as a kid? Have a good Sunday I'll be back Monday with a review on Hotel Transylvania.

Manga Review - Hana to Akuma

Manga Review - Hana to Akuma

This manga is sweet and touching, it was just an amazing find. First time I read this it wasn't completed, so I kind of forgot it existed and than bored found the link in my book marks and started reading it again. This time to the end.  I found this manga weird and intriguing it was the first one I ever read with actual demons (I try to stay with people in my manga).  Hana to Akuma was written by Hisamu Oto, this is one of the only pieces of their work I've read.  The manga has around 10 volumes, Which is relativity small, but the story line is nice and it is a story that doesn't leave you hanging like some do.

Hana to Akuma actually means Hana to Demon. The main characters name is Vivi and he is a demon that has been banished to our world for crimes unknown (we find out later the lord of Hell is a weird fellow that just didn't like Vivi). Vivi comes back to his manor on a raining day to find a baby sitting outside the gates to his house.  He decides to raise this human, and names the girl Hana. As she grows he opens his heart to the girl the only problem is he is an immortal demon, and Hana is not, can he keep Hana close or will he have to let her go?

I would recommend this story to anyone just passing the time its really sweet, in a weird way!! I'd give tis manga a 7 out of 10 only because there were some plot twists, that were odd and didn't really fit. I took it as  normal anime stuff and didn't worry to much about it.

Tomorrow I may not be able to update, going out of town and will be away from my computer. I'll be back Saturday for more Randomness!! Whats your weirdest event?

Food Review - Jello Cookies

Jello Cookies

This recipe was on my Pinterest and this holiday season I made three batches of these cookies. Out of all the cookies I made these were the ones asked about the most. I gave out the recipe twice and I'm sure their are others that want it. The cookies were fun and simple to make, only down side is you have to make each batch separate  which can take time you may not want to take. If you really want to make cookies though these ones are delicious.

So the recipe goes like this first you mix 3/4 cup of shortening or butter (It says to add a bit of each, but really don't need to) 1/2 cup of sugar (less sugar good for diabetics), 1 pkg of Jello mix and cream together. Than add 2 eggs and a teaspoon of vanilla (I'm liberal with my vanilla) mix together. Last add 2 1/2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking soda. You sound at this point have a non-sticky dough mass.

Next you roll the dough into balls quarter size or bigger. roll them in sugar, press on them with cup. Put on grease pan in oven for 6-8 minutes on 400 degrees.

Now warning make sure you pick a Jello that has a lot of flavor to it. While my Raspberry and Lime cookies were great, my peach ones weren't as flavorful.

Here is a photo of the ones I made.

Double Feature - Movie Reviews

Double Feature - Movie Reviews

This was a week of comedy!! I watched Men in Black 3 and Pitch Perfect.

Both are comedies that were released this last year to DVD and enjoyable to watch.

Men In Black 3

This is the third installment to the Men in Black series. I am a huge fan of the series, these two actors are comedic geniuses. The third one with the negative hype about it I went in with low expectations. That being said "I think this was a great third movie for the Franchise."  The plot had its slow moments, but I loved the character Griffin and the twist at the end.  They keep moving even through the slow points, and the younger version of Agent K was played excellent. This movie is defiantly one for the whole family, though my Dad fell asleep during it. I'd rate this one a 6 out of 10, only due to the fact that I was going in with low expectations and this movie still didn't have the Wow factor the other two had.

Pitch Perfect

Unlike Men in Black, I watched this with high hopes that it would be funny. It elicited a laugh here and there, but was not the laugh out loud riot that I was told it would be. It was a good film though. The songs kept me interested when the comedy failed, and the love story was classic. I loved the shout out to The Breakfast Club, best teen movie ever (Twilight can suck it). The fact that the movie was tied in nicely, made it more enjoyable.  I loved the soundtrack though, the mash-ups were just fun to listen to. Recommend this one to any one who enjoys music, and would like a laugh. I'd rate this one 7 out of 10, because even though expectations weren't meant, it was still an enjoyable movie!!!

So see any good movies worth watching this weekend?
