Food Review - Jello Cookies

Jello Cookies

This recipe was on my Pinterest and this holiday season I made three batches of these cookies. Out of all the cookies I made these were the ones asked about the most. I gave out the recipe twice and I'm sure their are others that want it. The cookies were fun and simple to make, only down side is you have to make each batch separate  which can take time you may not want to take. If you really want to make cookies though these ones are delicious.

So the recipe goes like this first you mix 3/4 cup of shortening or butter (It says to add a bit of each, but really don't need to) 1/2 cup of sugar (less sugar good for diabetics), 1 pkg of Jello mix and cream together. Than add 2 eggs and a teaspoon of vanilla (I'm liberal with my vanilla) mix together. Last add 2 1/2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking soda. You sound at this point have a non-sticky dough mass.

Next you roll the dough into balls quarter size or bigger. roll them in sugar, press on them with cup. Put on grease pan in oven for 6-8 minutes on 400 degrees.

Now warning make sure you pick a Jello that has a lot of flavor to it. While my Raspberry and Lime cookies were great, my peach ones weren't as flavorful.

Here is a photo of the ones I made.
